Types of Allergic Disease.
Allergic Rhinitis "hay fever"
Allergic Rhinitis is caused by substances that we breathe called allergans. They are usually harmless substances that can cause problems only in some people. Those people who have allergic rhinitis have reactions to allergans because their immune system mistakenly identifies tham as intruders and generates a reaction.
Symptoms: sneezing, congestion, itching and dripping of the nose and itchy, watery eyes.
Asthma
Asthma is a chronic lung disease that is inflammation of the airways with intermittent bronchospasm, which is inflammation of the muscles around the air passageways. This inflammation makes if difficult to breathe.
Symptoms: coughing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and wheezing
Sinusitis
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal sinuses. This can affect the nose, eyes and middle ear. Sinusitis can be caused by many things such as a bacterial infection, respiratory infection and the common cold.
Symptoms: nasal discharge, cough, head congestion, headache, toothache and occacionally a fever.
