About Us
In 1994, we began as a solo practice under the name of C. Bradley Franz, MD. Dr. Franz maintained an office in Clarksburg and Elkins for several months. When our Clarksburg patients started to need more of his time, we brought in our first associate to help with the Elkins office...and Franz Dermatology, inc. was born. In 2006, we changed our name to Mountain State Dermatology. We practice in five locations: Clarksburg, Morgantown, Fairmont, Elkins and Parksersburg.
Our physicians are medical doctors educated and trained by dermatology residency programs accredited by the American Committee for Graduate Medical Education. Once completed, these residency programs allow physicians to take a national certification exam which designates them as certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Our physician assistant, Kristin J. Barberio, is also board-certified and has received individual training in dermatology from Dr. Franz. She continuously furthers her training in dermatology through research and medical education programs. She is a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV.We pride ourselves in excellent customer service. When you call our office you will be greeted by a member of our staff and your call will be handled personally. We maintain our own medical records and complete our own patient billing, both the primary and secondary insurances. We also help our patients with cancer policy billing. We have flexible scheduling, including Saturday appointments, and new patients are welcome. We accommodate walk-ins as much as possible. We participate with Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance companies. Patients without insurance or those with high deductibles may benefit from one of our payments plans. We also accept MasterCard and Visa for your convenience. We truly care about our patients and make every effort to meet their needs.
